What we do: Programming Strategy

Like the experienced hiker who's pursuing his or her journey to the summit, the programming for the Sagamore Leadership Initiative takes students on a similar journey. Our goal is to help young leaders navigate life and ultimately reach their summit of greatest success--that is, positioning them to influence the culture for the greatest good. The Sagamore Leadership Initiative offers next-generation leaders the opportunity to develop their leadership potential within a variety of dynamic environments--all while learning alongside their peers from some of the top leaders and culture-shapers of our day.

Leading For Good Curriculum

Our Leading For Good video curriculum was built for middle school, high school, and college-age students. This library of 34 videos. is professional, engaging, and the included leadership topics are foundational to building next-generation leaders. 

The feedback we have received has been outstanding. Several diverse groups are already using elements of the Leading For Good curriculum successfully. Whether you are a Teacher, Youth Pastor, Coach, or Athletic Director, we believe this resource could be a valuable tool for you.

School-Year Program

The School-Year Program is the conduit through which we do our most significant leadership development. And it provides the creative environment for molding the minds and leadership potential of students.

During the school year, students are invited to attend regular Sagamore meetings at various locations around the city of Indianapolis. During the 2-hour gathering, they'll first be challenged by various leader-teachers in a large group setting, and then process the evening's content with their small group. Beyond that, there are also opportunities to apply what they're learning in fun and meaningful ways through various leadership lab experiences.

Practically, the School-Year Program serves as the journey to the Sagamore Summit leadership experience.

The Sagamore Summit

The Sagamore Summit is the one-of-a-kind student leadership experience hosted in Indianapolis every summer. It is the pinnacle event for Sagamore's entire programming year.

While at the Summit, they're immersed in challenging environments in which they interact with cutting-edge local and national leaders. Beyond that, they engage with their peers in small group settings and participate in unique off-site experiences where they apply their leadership knowledge in meaningful ways.

Simply put, the Sagamore Summit is designed to be the best leadership experience for next-generation leaders in the state of Indiana and beyond.

LEAD NOW

The Lead Now Middle School Leadership Conference is a call for middle school students to follow 1 Timothy 4:12: 

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Lead Now middle school students experience a one-day event which will begin to lay the groundwork and understanding of the importance of leadership and the powerful tool it is to shape culture.
